Hannity Replaced In Asheville With...

Ready?

Well you knew I couldn't keep my keyboard quiet.

His name is Ken Bagwell host of Head's Up America
A local that at one time was kicking Rush's behind!
Ken, unlike many talk show hosts, actually allows his guests
to talk instead of talking OVER them.
AND the topics change daily, unlike many other talk show hosts.
(i.e. the same old 5 topics and the same old political rhetoric)
As I have mentioned before, THIS market simply can't support
Sean's show. Once the new schedule was announced, only a SMATTERING
of opposition hit the station... no public outcry, just a whimper.
However, when Head's Up America was announced in the
new timeslot, call after call came in to support the move.
There's only been one local show in that time slot in Asheville for
so long. Now that show will have competition. Now WNC will have
the opportunity to hear something local that is geared not so much
at the host, but at the listeners.
Thanks to Diamond Joe for the Head's Up... pun fully intended.
By the way, show me Hannity works in this market and we'll talk.

That is quite an interesting lineup.

I'd be a little concerned about Pam Stone's show considering the ratings the Link is getting. Eventually, if the trend continues, somebody will have to change the format.

True, but Pam's show is STILL number one for the demos I need.

???

I can only guess that you mean "Number one available to me in format" here.

Otherwise, I'm really confused, because she's a long way from #1 in her home market with W35-54 (which is where the bulk of her audience resides).

If you can get a significant number of women in that age range to listen to _anybody_ talking about _anything_ in that daypart, I'll take my hat off to you.

After digging through the numbers a little deeper, I _think_ I can see what you're trying to do with this, but I'm not sure how well she's going to draw from the specific audience I think you're trying to ... ahem ... "relocate".

But I sure do wish you the best of luck, at least you're trying & that's more than I see from a lot of people in the same situation you're in.

I guess what I am trying to get away from is the unending poltical
attack jargun that seems to inundate the talk airwaves. A station
tends to alienate many a listener when it's nothing but "you're wrong,
we're right now kiss off" It's okay to TAKE A STAND (oops, did I say
that) but if you're only cowtowing to a handful of people, it just doesn't
get the job done.

I hope to get a picture from you indeed...with the hat off.

I just want this station to succeed in an extremely finicky market.
Thank you for the encouragement.
