Hannity's a jerk (re: Franken)

Don62 said:
I know I'm resurrecting an old thread, but what a jerk that Hannity - or as I've read him called online - "slanthead" - is.

I was listening this afternoon while driving and the arrogant SOB had the nerve to call Ed Schultz an idiiot.

Imagine that. Hannity scared of what Schultz might do to him on radio.

I don't recall what brought up the great Ed Schultz's name, but Hannity appeared to take it personally and took some swipes at Schultz.

This from a man - according to online reports - who was too afraid to debate Schultz live in person in Cincy when Hannity couldn't control the microphone.

Some talk radio host you got there. Thanks Crap Channel for clogging the airwaves with his drivel.

Ummm, it's Ed Schultz who came up with the term "slanthead" so I guess Hannity has a right to shoot back.

Asfor the Cincy/Hannity/Schultz story - just because you read something on the internet, doesn't make it so.

Finally, regarding your usual shot at CC, just know that you won't hear Ed Schultz say too many bad things about Clear Channel. He's on a boat load of their stations. In fact, if it wasn't for CC, his syndcation career wouldn't be half as successful. And he's said as much.

Finally, Hannity, who is produced by ABC/Citadel, not Clear Channel, has millions of listeners who love his show. But in the Don62 world, if he doesn't like it, it must suck.

I had a feeling that comment wouldn't go over well..

I'm well aware ABC syndicates Hannity and the other blowhards.

But CC, Cumulus, et. al., fill up their schedules with Hannity's puke, leaving little room for other hosts.

I shouldn't have singled CC out for that barb....

I'd say, regardless of how conservative the country is, there are still 8% of folks that are of a left-wing persuasion. Many more, in fact.

I think you're way off on that figure.

If Rush and Hannity are "blowhards" what are Randi and Big Ed? Seriously. Put politics aside for a second, isn't that what they do, too? And I mean it in a good way. Or in a Don62 world, only conservatives are blowhards? Maybe you ought to take your postings to Media Matters where you might feel more comfortable. <g>.

Both Randi and Eddie, by the way, would give a nod to that evil Clear Channel for playing a significant role in their careers, past and present.

Hannity's a blowhard because he constantly rants on how great the Iraq war is going and he rarely lets dissenting opinions in. He doesn't listen to callers either.

One man called in yesterday to disagree with the genius. The caller simply said, "I give up." Hannity doesn't listen.

Earlier, out of nowhere, Hannity slams Schultz on the Fairness Doctrine. Pardon me, but doesn't Ed oppose the plan?

Schultz even beats Hannity in a few markiets, according to him. He also says big chains relying only on the likes of Hannity limits other programming, i.e. his.

What a jerk Hannity is. The guy is so afraid of anyone challenging his precious position.

I am one of the very first subscribers to Ed Schultz' podcasts...$5.95 a month. Also have been a subscriber to the Stephcast from the day her station in Columbus flipped formats.

Big Eddie explained why he had to start charging...He was paying big time for bandwidth, and listeners were wanting him to podcast the entire show. Until the change, he had his show openings and interviews available for free.

$11 a month for Steph and Big Eddie is worth every penny.

As for Hannity...any reason why he ducked out on a debate with Stephanie Miller over the Fairness Doctrine, which she opposes?

Not that he hasn't ducked Stephanie before.

[EDIT]This is the difference between conservatives and liberals.
Here's the answer: There is none. With a conservative you will get a respectful, thought-provocative debate. With a lib, you will get nothing but personal attacks, [EDIT].

[inflammatory]

On the contrary, Hannity, Limbaugh and Mark Levin revel in lies, half-truths and stupidity. My favorite Haniity lie (until he comes out with another whopper) is:

"Everyone got the same amount of money back from the Bush tax cuts."

Challenging people to debates is an old trick. If hannity debated every other radio person who called him out, he'd never have time to prep for his show..... wait.... maybe he HAS been debating people.

What can you say about a man who in one breath denounced a democrat because he remained friends with an adulterer and in the next introduced Newt Gingrich?

Confused. Overwrought. Tunnelvisioned. Irrevocably biased. Extremely successful, though, and Newt is worthy of forgiveness. Excercise your ability to turn the channel/dial on Hannity, I did a long, long time ago...I'd rather have dinner with Alan Colmes than Sean, and I'm about as conservative on most issues as they come. Not every bad thing that's ever happened is the fault of a liberal. I even married one once.

You callin' me a liberal, you dittohead?

I hate Media Matters. But I hate even more one-sided broadcasting that serves as spokesmen for any political group.

Try to defend the broadcast industry's relying on wall-to-wall conservative boring talk while pretty much ignoring any other side of the issues.

This coming from one who wrote my local major market stations and urged them to add Rush to their lineup during the late 80s.

Believe me, I deeply regret wasting my time.

HANNITY IS AN IDI0T!

Well, he's learned from the best: Rush Limbaugh (otherwise known as Big
Fat Idiot by some).

His ilk are ALL hypocrites. Funny story: the other day I just happened to find myself
on a Hannity station looking for a network newscast and he went on & on about how
"well, look, WHY we went to Iraq is beside the point-now we have to figure out how to
win there but let's not go back and blame Bush or Cheney or Rumsfeld because that
gets us nowhere. We have to look ahead, not back".

The same guy who, at every opportunity, has blamed Bill Clinton for September 11.
They talk out of both sides of their mouths and lie every day (all the while professing to
be obedient Christians. HA!).

Did anyone catch the near- Ed Schultz reference from a caller the other day on Hannity's show?

I don't listen much to him, but he was the only thing on in the market I was driving through.

A caller from North Dakota called in and said sometihing such as, "A host based here in Fargo, who also has a big national radio show, said..."

Man, I was sure ole' fair Hannity would cut the caller off then, scared the caller might mention a liberal or progressive host's name.

Or that we'd hear Hannity go on a diatribe about how "liberal shows such as Air America never succeed, always fail, and have zero listeners."

Well, did he?

Here's a good jab at the "great" Hannity and his rude debating style..
http://www.crooksandliars.com/category/fox-news/hannity-colmes/
The FOX post-debate show got a little heated last night when Hannity and Colmes got around to interviewing Ron Paul about how things went. Hannity tried to pull his usual schtick by asking a question then interrupting and talking over the guest, but Paul plowed right ahead. Hannity brought up Paul's exchange with Rudy Giuliani on the root cause of 9/11 and couldn't seem to grasp the concept of American foreign policy playing a role in Islamic terrorism. Alan jumps in at the end and teams up with Rep. Paul to counter Sean's talking point stupidity.

Hacknity is is poor speaker. Uh, Um, you know's pepper his speach. He sounds disjointed, desparate and distracted. He is a week debater who plays Mark Levine saying: "Get off my phone" when a caller pins him down. He won't have Ron Paul on his shows because he is a hack for Rudy. There is little content on his show. He uses the same phrases over and over.

Thanks for the review. I never listen to his show...and now, never will because of his poor speaking ability that he outlined.
