Hap Ritchey Update

Re: Hap Ritchie

Can anyone put me in touch with Hap? I haven't been in contact with him since I left WVAM in 1971.

Re: Hap Ritchie

If he is reachable at that station, does this mean he's doing well after his cancer treatments???

Re: Hap Ritchie

Last spring when I talked with him there, the cancer treatments were coming up. Haven't heard.

I believe Hap is reachable out at WJSM in Martinsburg.

Thanks, fryman. I see him on their web site. I think a surprise call after all these years might be in order. Thanks again.

Re: Hap Ritchie

I got an email from a friend yesterday telling me that Hap was filling in for a local minister on Sunday morning when he collapsed at the pulpit from a stroke. Nothing else was known.

Does anyone have any more information?

Re: Hap Ritchie

Thereis some type of Christian network called FBN. They said an MRI was done and there might be a tumor. Then they said he was moved to another hospital and is speaking better...putting words together into sentences.

What is somewhat disturbing is his own station's website, WJSM, says absolutely NOTHING about it!

Re: Hap Ritchie

I just heard from a friend of mine on Facebook that Hap was taken back to the Altoona Hospital again earlier this week with another seizure. They are apparently still looking for a tumor. I don't know anything else.

I received a Facebook message this morning from a friend who informed me that “the MRI Hap had Thursday shows less swelling. The site of the surgery looked good, and there is no evidence of tumors. They will do another MRI in 3 months again. Continue to pray for him as he takes the chemo pills for 5 days every 28 days for 6 months. Pray for the neck sprain that he is dealing with that he is able to get his neck straightened upright instead of hanging down and in so much pain.”

This is certainly great news for our friend on his long road to recovery. When I receive more information, I will pass it along here. If any of you hear something new before I do, please do the same.
