Happy 25th, Rush!!

Has Rush always been on KFI? He was originally distributed by ABC, so wouldn't it have made more sense for him to have been on KABC? Just wondering...

Rush was doing noon to three on WABC when he started syndication. However out here, KABC had a very successful man on from nine to noon named Michael Jackson, so KFI ended up getting Rush. I do recall that before KFI got him he was on The Mighty 690. Over time Rush's syndicator came under Clear Channel ownership, so KFI was never going to let him go.

I remember when El Rushbo was on The Mighty 690 and 590 in the Inland Empire. That was when I first discovered the show which was unlike anything else on the radio at the time. Then all of a sudden one day I heard his voice loud and clear in LA on the Super 64.
