want to wish KC 101 a Happy 30th Anniversary! Been listening to the 1999 20th Reunion CD that someone made me a few year ago! John P Johnson-Tampa,Fla(formerly of Naugatuck CT) 8) ;D ;)

Happy birthday to the virtual ghost town! The 20th anniversary was AMAZING! We had ALL the old timers there like Willie B. Goode, Danny Lyons, Stormin' Norman, Pete Salant and many many more!

Yes, prior to the station being WKCI (for Kops Communications Incorporated), WKCI had been WDEE-FM (coupled with WDEE-AM which later became WCDQ-AM, WOMN-AM, WSCR-AM, WNNR-AM, WXCT-AM and now is WQUN-AM and owned by Quinnipiac University). WDEE's owners sold the station (or CP) to Daniel Kops. As you probably know, it was "WKCI-FM 101 - Stereo Island" with a beautiful music format until the flip to hot AC in 1979.
