Happy 45th, Sesame Street

Yes, that show where every day is a sunny one, premiered today in 1969 on NET (now PBS), entertaining millions of young kids across the world. Up in Canada, CBC also aired it during the late morning for decades. It's sad how this show is literally decaying - the only thing the producers and creators care about now is Elmo and Abby Cadabby. Back in the day it used to be Cookie Monster, Big Bird, Snuffy, Ernie/Bert, Kermit...wow how time flies.

"Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood" was also very good at depicting and explaining real life situations to youngsters, in scenes and terms that they could understand. At one time, I think they ran back-to-back on my local PBS.
