Happy 60th Anniversary, KUHF!

What a treat it was to be in the audience to witness the broadcast of A Prairie Home Companion live from the Wortham Center on Saturday! I was expecting a warm up talk to the audience about how and when to react but there wasn't...they just let the chips fall where they did...

And getting to meet Garrison Keillor backstage after the show made the evening even more special! Congratulations KUHF on your 60th anniversary!

The University of Houston's student newspaper has a neat write-up about the school's radio station celebrating six decades of broadcasting:
http://thedailycougar.com/2010/11/18/kuhf-celebrates-60-years-2/

However, I'm afraid the author made one major faux pas. She lists one of the school's alumni as "CBS Sports announcer Jim Nance."

It's been corrected.

More interesting: No one's jumped on the comments to attack KUHF's takeover of KTRU.

And thanks to Google AdSense, there was a "Defund NPR" ad from townhall.com on that page when I looked at it. May I point out that Salem owns townhall.com, which sounds to me like they don't want any competition. Are they going to start running ads calling for a non-com CCM station to go off the air in markets where they do The Fish?
