Happy 90th Birthday to the mighty Station KWG 1230AM STOCKTON CALIFORNIA Born on November 22,1921 I am very proud to once call the station my Radio Home :)
 
It is Thanksgiving so I forgive you for that statement, You have the right to your opinion, I have my right to honor a truly great station. Good luck in your career and life.
 
It would appear that StillInRadio is lucky to be in radio with that attitude. Honestly, that's the problem now days, too many people who "don't" care. I love radio history and am thankful for those like bkress who give a damn. They're the one who keep the torch burning. The StillInRadio types would probably take the torch and use it to burn the station down but not before giving it a stupid name and vt'd talent...
 
Many people care. I certainly do. It's great to see one of the country's older radio stations still on the air!

So do I! Happy Birthday to KWG. It is just so sad of how that radio station evolved over the years and what it is today. KWG deserved better! Stockton has 3 AM radio stations which don't amount to squat today. There is KWSX-1280 which all they do is simulcast its sister stations from outside Stockton (KFIV-1360 Modesto, KSTE-650 Sacramento & KFBK-1530 Sacramento) and KCVR-1570 (though licensed in nearby Lodi) which simulcast its Modesto 98.9 station. And of course, KSTN-1420 is silent.

Unfortunately KWG-1230 themselves don't care. They didn't do anything to observe the event nor did I expect themselves to do anything special. The last time that they observed their anniversary/birthday was I think in 1991 when they were an Oldies Station.
