This year WTIC AM turned 90 years old. I only know this because their top of the hour mentions 90 years.
According to http://www.hartfordradiohistory.com/WTIC__AM_.php they signed on in 1925 with 500 watts at 860 on the AM dial.
I've gotta say although I don't listen to much of WTIC's programming it's good to see they're still going strong at 90 years. When I listen to WTIC it's when I'm in the car when I want to check the headlines and weather. I also listen to Clark Howard (when it's not pre-empted for The SOX or UCONN) and The NY Football Giants if I'm not near the TV.
