Happy Birthday 2"!

56 years ago today, 2" Quadruplex Videotape was demonstrated to the public and would soon become the first successful videotape format.

Still have several 2" tapes laying around my house somewhere...

Q. Do you collect pornography?

A. No. I don't have a pornograph to play them on.

(very old joke my dad used to tell after a few beers...) :D

I had to smile when I saw this thread. On my desk sits a never used "red brick". For many years the RCA TCR-100 and 100A were the backbone of many a station. Sometimes I swear I could hear those noises they made in my sleep...

Is this the tape CBS used to tape-delay "Douglas Edwards With The News"
for the West Coast, starting in the fall of 1956?
