I second that thought radiogeek! I congratulate Movin' 92.5 AND 'mammaknowsbest' as well!! 8)

Oh please...don't you think some credit goes to the Burns Associates consultant group who launched it? Not to take anything away from Lisa but hasn't it been pretty much a juke box all this time?

Speculation on the SFO board that they will blow up Movin' and go to back to an all-gold KFRC (but no 60's). We'll see if that pans out ... and also a different owner (CBS vs. Sandusky). If true, however, may not mean good things for M. Preston.

well if you look at the ratings of the other movin stations across the country you have to wonder how much burns is actually doing. and if the book shows what the trends are showing, movin's numbers will be huge for the entire book. somebody at that station is doing something different than the other stations ...and don't say its all about the audience because there are significant differences between the different movin's.

AMEN! There's a reason why Seattle's has taken off and other markets have not... Think about it!

Well, the Winter Book comes out this Friday, May 4th. So we'll see how Movin' does. I expect the station to do quite well, number 1 in female 18-49. And KUBE's goin' down. KUBE has twisted more ethinic in the last year, with southern-talkin' DJ's and more gangsta & thug. But the black audience is just 5.3% in this market. One of the reasons Movin is doing so well is because it's much less threatening to the white folks around here. Remember, this is Seattle, not Atlanta.

How has KUBE gone more "gangsta & thug?"

You might not understand KUBE's audience. They are full of the hand-me-down Lexus driving high school kids on the Eastside.

AQH. KUBE has dropped a point (12+) since the last book. That's significant. If on Friday they jump back, I'll eat some crow. But if not, I'll feel vindicated. So we'll see! Maybe I just don't like what they're doing.

Eric Powers and Karen Wilde are just smart for powering the hell out of the top KBKS "rhythmic" tracks. No KUBE male listener likes hearing Fergie, Justin Timberlake or Ne-Yo but they have no where else to go. So if you can attract some of that KBKS audience and maintain your own cume then you're set. The only way KUBE will be challenged in this market is with the inception of a new Rhythmic CHR or Urban station.
