Happy Birthday Pulse 87

It was one year ago at the stroke of Midnight on February 11, 2008 that Bob Sinclar's "Everybody Dance Now" ushered in a new dance/rhythmic station in New York.....Pulse 87 (WNYZ-LP). The station has certainly had its ups and downs but the fact that it's still on the air, along with a fanbase that supports the music, shows that current dance music can work.

Happy birthday!

may Pulse 87 not just survive, but THRIVE!! :) (and may all the naysayers be forced to eat their own words!) :)

Happy Birthday Pulse 87! Truly you are NY's pure energy. One of my favorite stations to listen to in NY. I just wish I didn't have to listen to you on my mp3 player in my car cause I have a pioneer deck which doesn't go below 87.9. Keep up the good work!

Happy Birthday Pulse!

You have built back my confidence in radio. Since youve come on air, ive

1) Cancelled my satellite radio subscription - You played better music than The Beat on Sirius
2) Havent tuned into KTU since...
3) As a club dj - being able to play new dance music to mainstream crowds and to see that the songs arent foreign to them is great.

Keep exposing NYC to real dance music!

To the greatest dance station that came to NYC (and still trying to win those b-day bash tickets since day one) Happy Birthday Pulse 87! You are the only station I listen to on the FM dial when Im in the area.

Pulse is one of the most innovative stations in the country. I am happy to have them in New York where they should be!!
I applaud their eclectic liners, fantastic music and ability to think outside the box.

Long live Pulse 87!

(I only hope for a Pulse 92.3, 101.9 or even 94.3! You never know..)

Happy birthday, Pulse... been listening since the debut and while I'm mainly a rock kinda guy, I enjoy the music Pulse plays... I hope it sticks around for a while to come!

Happy Birthday Pulse 87!
I remember the day it launched, I was so frustrated that I could not get 87.7 or any radio station in my car because my antenna was frozen in the lowered position. So I missed the launch of Pulse. And I was really excited when I could hear it that evening when the ice melted.
But since that day, I have listened to Pulse 87 almost daily except when I was out of the area. It's the only station I can keep on for hours at a time.

Since its launch, it has gained 500K-1 million listeners! Let's hope we can celebrate at Pulse 87's Birthday Bash Numero Dos next year.
