Thirty years ago this afternoon, March 18, 1980, I put Rock 105 on the air.

Bob, congrats on a very long and distinguished career in Jacksonville. You probably could write a book on what you experienced and I wish you would. To be at the beginning of what is today heritage has to be pretty awesome.

Congrats. You can be heard somewhat regularly here in the Tampa Bay area. Keep up the great work.

Although belated, congratulations on a job well done and also reaching a major milestone. I remember very well when the former 3kw WJNJ-FM 104.9 became the powerhouse 100,000 watt Rock 105 with a frequency move to 104.5. Do you know a GM by the name of Vic Aderhold? I met him once in Tallahassee at WTAL, and, if I remember correctly, he told me he was the first GM at the new WFYV when the station signed on. He was giving me a brief history of the station and told me the 104.5 C frequency was originally assigned to Saint Augustine but was re-allocated to Atlantic Beach replacing the 104.9 class A frequency. In Saint Augustne, 105.5 A (originally WMKM) was assigned to replace 104.5 C. Do I have the history correct?

Yes, Vic was the GM.

He was in Jacksonville a few weeks ago and we were able to spend several hours reminiscing.

Bob
