Happy Birthday

GO WEATHER! GO WEATHER!

I think they were a lot more relevant back in the day (than today) and competition from
other sources has really hurt them also. They have also hurt themselves in some ways
with their NEWSY WEATHER SERIES. I just wish they would stop going to commercial every
five minutes.

1982, not 1981.

If they could go back to what they were on that fateful day in 1982, they'd sure trump what they do now...

Wait...does anyone actually remember the weather channel in the early 80's? It actually wasn't very good at all. Perhaps they were more weather-centric, but the quality was pretty poor at the start. I remember the anchors constantly messing up, cracking up, and not taking much too seriously in those early days. I was about to write them off, but I believe some new management came in at some point during the 80's and shaped things up. Maybe someone on the inside can elaborate.

Perhaps the Weather Channel can celebrate their milestone birthday with a nine-hour "Storm Stories" marathon. Followed by a showing of the movie "March of the Penguins," just because. ::)

Dateline NBC is now airing on The Weather Channel. ::) They should drop whatever weather coverage is left and create a Weather Channel Two, just for weather. ;D

Anyways, can't wait for the new weather network later this year.
