Happy Thanksgiving

What are YOU thankful for?

I'd like to echo the "Happy Thanksgiving" sentiment, and add a few radio-related things that I'm thankful for...

My Program Director, who chose to NOT go All-Christmas. Imagine the Joy of being a Star each day knowing that "Jingle Bell Rock" is in HOT rotation.

Otto Mation, which makes good jocks better and let's a lot of us spend more time with the family during the holidays. It ain't the machine that's the problem, it's the morons who think they can replace humans.

The Internet, which takes show prep to new heights, and offers instant information when bad weather hits or big events happen. Of course, you DO have to be careful of your sources.

I'm not involved in Citadel Syracuse. On the other hand, it's a great opportunity because "mediocre" management would be so much better than what they've had there recently.

Eliot Spitzer has no idea who I am, and doesn't need to.

Radio-info.com, which is an endless source of information and amusement. There are some talented writers on these boards, and the diversity of opinion is refreshing. Hint - check out the Engineering and Production Boards occaisionally, which are seldom contentious, and offer a wealth of information.

Lastly, thanks to our guys and gals in the military, and all those who preserve, protect, and defend us.

Not (BLEEP).

I'm thankful I'm not Dave Universal. I wonder what the labels sent Dave for Thanksgiving?

Re: What are YOU thankful for?

As I sit in the coffee shop of BNIA awaiting the arrival of some family from out of town:
I'm thankful for my entire family (especially for my new daughter), their health and safety.
I'm thankful for those who provide us with our safety (from thousands of miles away all the way to right here at the airport)
And ultimately for a God that puts up with all of us.
Peace.<P ID="signature">______________

Re: What are YOU thankful for?

I'm thankful for:
-A great wife.
-Our military families.
-Having a career that isn't "work".
-Having had the chance to work in Rochester radio during the heyday of WAXC, BBF and the original WCMF. It was the best time I ever had in the business.

BTW...anybody notice Ferdinand Jay Smith on a recent episode of "Harvey Birdman" [adult swim]?

Hey Doctor Rock,

It was a great time to be in Rochester radio! Probably, the most exciting and competitive 2 or 3 years in the market's history. Many talented personalities from that era, moved on to much bigger and better things--you, certainly, were among the best!

Like you, I have great memories of that time. Hope you're doing well.
