Guess it is just time to get rid of the oldtimers and replace them with the cheaper, less experienced, younger generation. Cheap is where it's at!

What do you have against younger broadcasters? Even the oldtimers had to start somewhere...

Captain Joke has turned up (or was unearthed) at Renegade Country Nashville, currently a page on Facebook, apparently readying to go live on the web. It's OK... we'll have the cicadas.

Or maybe YOUNG is where it's at. That's always been the story in radio.

It is too bad that YOUNG has no interest in radio.

I don't have anything against young. Small market radio is where the young have come for years. With VTing anyone can do radio these days. You screw up you do it over again. The difference between younger and older is strictly price.

AllAccess reports that "Party" Marty Mitchell, who was hired from Long Island's country station WJVC just before Captain Jack had left, is now doing mornings. Former morning man Chris Van Zant switches to afternoons.
Mitchell, who is also PD, had been filling in during the afternoon hours, following the departure of Capt. Jack.

I switched on Renegade Radio Nashville for the first time today and love it. Lots of new country artists and songs, along with well chosen older tunes. It is currently being tweaked, and is expected to go live on August 1.
Here is a link to an article about it: http://www.radio-info.com/programming/country/first-listen-renegade-radio-nashville
