Chip, that would be "losing", not "loosing". Gosh, I thought the internet was supposed to make us all smarter. Time and time again this board proves me wrong!
It never ceases to amaze me how much pleasure you Upper Valley folk take in someone's demise. Shame! I have several friends who work for Nassau Broadcasting - both in and out of your little, tiny hamlet (which Nassau put on the map by lobbying to make it a RATED market!). There are good people there. Unfortunate that there were some good people let go, but, that's the biz.
Bob Frisch? He was probably the most universally disliked executive in radio this side of the Rockies. I talked to him once and could NEVER see myself working with him. That said, it's always a sad day when ANYONE in our industry is let go. It's the people and personalities (not referring to DJ's here) that drive this business.
I don't get to the Upper Valley as much as I'd like, but when I do I hear the touches of talented people, like Chris Mitchell, (who I've known for 15 years - a TRUE radio guy), Bob Cady (the Wolf wake up) and Traci Fulton (nights on Q106) who are trying to make a difference and do it right. The midday chick from away on Q (Jennifer Wylde) really puts her heart into her show. I read all the Nassau negatives, but hear lots of positive progress (and no, I don't work for Nassau). Perhaps all the down hype is from unhappy former Nassau employees? What? Hit a nerve? You couldn't "get it done"?
As to Nassau selling with the WWOD move in to Burlington, don't count on it. Sure, it COULD happen, but I smell Frank - and a correctly done classic hits format - coming soon to a slope near Burlington.
It's not 1978 anymore. Get over it, people. Try to keep a job long enough to understand the big picture. Or, go to work with Bob Frisch, Heath Cole, Brian Ryea, et al.
Have a nice day.
