HARD CORE?

Maybe I'm not remembering correctly, but I *think* I've seen the term ``hard core'' applied to a certain Hispanic-targeted format. It *may* have been a description of the musical genre of KDXX/Benbrook, TX. If I am correct, what does ``hard core'' mean in this context and what would be a format equivalent in English language-targeted radio? To my admittedly untrained ear, KDXX and Lewisville TX's KESS sound similar and I'm trying to grasp the nuance of what's different about a ``hard core'' format.

"Hard core" regional Mexican is just a description of a blend that is younger and more driving... mostly aimed at a male 18-24 core. It's not an accepted term, just a descrtiption of a sound.

yeah, like hard-core salsa which David Eduardo was referring to in another post, meaning the danceable one whereas the romantic kind of salsa or any other kind of music, obviously, the one that will sit back and enjoy it.
