HARD'R YSP

The buzz going around my office is YSP is going to become more aggressive and program harder cuts. They will evolve into a Heavy Metal/Hard Rock system. I did notice today the music is harder edge and many softer cuts are being replaced, is this my imagination or what. It would make some sense if Infinity is going to place WOGL in some sort of Alternative format in the future, say around Labor Day, thus eliminating most Alternative bands that YSP plays now. Just a thought. Time will tell.

Re: HARD'R YSP - 98 to Classic Hits?

I think 98 should get rid of the Oldies name and go with Classic Hits like Nassau did when they dumped their Oldies stations on 99.9 & 94.5 (now 97.5).

They are half way there with the Classic Hits anyway with the music they are now playing plus they can add in some stuff played from their hot hit days. This should not step over WYSP and no one is doing Classic Hits in Philly since WMGK went Classic Rock.

Classic Hits 98.1 WCAU-FM

(Yes, bring back those WCAU calls and put them where they belong!, on 98.1, Those calls have been missing from the dial now for too long.)

I don't think the alternative format would perform as well for WOGL.
They're pretty consistent.
I would never say never though.

I'm sure it wouldn't be a far stretch for Infinity to write a little check to NBC for use of the WCAU-FM calls. It could be worked....money talks...<P ID="signature">______________

why have something that sounds like WMGK. What could this supposed "classic hits" format have that would be worth doing? Clear channel already does this format with it's Rock Hits Y102 format up in reading, that station booms all over the place spin your dial and see.

i couldnt see WOGL switching because its popular and anyway WYSP is playing more alternative than ever. if u havent noticed they say "40 minute non-stop rock blocks, best new rock FIRST"
