I've heard Steve Harper is out at 101.7

Really bad times all over the industry, especially when you see it daily on the inside.
 
I've heard Steve on that station in the past and I thought that he didn't fit on that station. I'm quite sure that Party 105 is happy about that news.
 
What a shame…I had really been enjoying the progress that station had been making up until the summer of '07. I always checked up on them during my forays out east, and at one point that morning show had Nikki (once of Party 105, now back there), Steve (the BLI legend) and Ballistic Bob (from both Party and BLI) all together when it was still called "The Beat".

It looked like they were making some big moves, and to their credit the station sounded OK with just Harper, but now…?

On the other hand, Party 105 has been sounding great this year, and Vic & crew seem to be on the right track.

But…why is no one on this board yet to mention this?

…is the BLI morning show off the radar?
 
It was announced in AllAccess about two weeks ago. It is very surprising that nobody brought it up on here. The lead host of the BLI morning show leaving I'd assume would be a story. They will probably find another female to lead. But, I wonder if they would think of blowing up the whole show, and bring in a new team.

As for Harper, I am sorry to see him lose his gig. But, he is a very good talent, and a market legend. Not sure if WALK has a place for him, but what about him taking over the morning chair at Island? That would give them some credibility and make them more of a player in a market/demo that is very familiar with Steve.

I would like to see him back on BLI...
 
Have no knowledge of any opening. But, with Steve a free agent, I think it would be good fit for him and the station. As for BLI, it may be sentimental for many people, but IMO would never happen.

Why would Party 105 even care. Steve Harper in my opinion sounded out of place on that station and as the pd, took the station in a number of directions, all of which bad. I hope Steve comes out with something, personally hes a great guy!
 
thought is was after the first of the year....What happens next??? They get a new person to do the gig..LOL ;D
