How would you like to be John King - half as many people dislike you, but only 1% likes you?

So we are as polarized on this topic as we are on everything else.
Is it any surprise?

Speaking for the Republicans I can tell you there are a whole bunch of us
out here who don't care for O'Reilly.

How do Limbaugh and Hannity even get to be considered "news personalities?" Regardless of your politics, these two are pundits and commentators, plain and simple. O'Reilly does report news, so he fits the category.

I would think genuine news reporters would be rated on their journalistic and presentation skills and not their "personalities".

Perhaps we are ourselves responsible for the deterioration in journalism if we choose reporters based upon non-journalistic standards.

I have to agree. Limbaugh makes it clear he is an entertainer, not a news personality.

If Limbaugh is still influential in the Republican Party (and I'm not really sure how influential he is anymore compared to the Bush years, even with Republican Congresscritters), he is more than just an "entertainer." One cannot say that about his counterparts on the left. He is also the #1 voice of the opposition (you think, deep down, that he might want Obama re-elected? I'll say "yes").

I believe Limbaugh has referred to himself as an "entertainer" - but I do consider him a legitimate commentator and pundit, even though I may disagree with him. But "news" personality - no.

As to your comment on whether or not Rush might secretly want Obama re-elected, I've noted numerous times that Limbaugh and conservative talk radio in general became promionent during the Clinton Administration, when conservative anger and dissffection was running high - much as it is now.

Conversely, liberal pundits certainly got more notice during the George W. Bush years, when liberals were angry. Basically, if you're a commentator, "business is better" when you're in the opposition, not when your guy is in power.

Since they are regular news commentators, some folks consider them news personalities.

What a convoluted world we live in! ;D

EXACTLY! I have to watch the comedy channels for in-depth news and the news channels for comedy.....

from the report:
Respondents for this survey were selected from among those who have agreed to participate in Harris Interactive surveys.
sooo....
1. Harris chooses them.
2. Harris contacts them.
3. they respond.
4. they agree.
5. Harris 'selects' from those that agree.

THAT is a SMALL sample.

As I commented on another board many people claim to despise Rush Limbaugh but then freely admit to never having listened to him.

that ALWAYS cracks me up, they will also trash Fox News, and say they're Making up news & they're facts are wrong and when pressed can't back it up, BECAUSE THEY NEVER WATCH FOX NEWS! these people either choose to be ignorant, or are left wing seminar bloggers who repeat the "MANTRA" hoping others will not listen or watch, because they might hear something other than the so called "Main Stream Media's" predictable left wing slant on things, and HOW do i know? i actually watch the left wing media is doing.

I've heard Limbag and Fox news......and wasn't really impressed with either. News should not be
biased, slanted or controlled with agendas.

You just described every news program ever televised over the last 20 years should not be like.
