Harris Stereo 80... It sings...

Yummy. I'm hoping to get one of those myself in the near future. Can't wait.
My fellow partners in crime think I'm a nutjob for wanting one. :D

Congratulations! I have been following your posts along the way, and am happy to note that you have it cooking.

Thank you!!!

It's working but not as I wish cause I need to feed the interfaced relay to have the mic on with the and it doesn't act over the mutes...
When I connect the console the 3 original relays switch on(?) simultaneously and after disconecting it I hear 3 clicks... I don't know the meaning of that. I have the manual but there a few pages missing, one of them is the block diagram 842 6555 002, the schematic 852 6795 002 and the Inst. Diag-Ext. Con. 828 0021 001.
Without the schematic I can't do much confidently :'(
That's why I'm nagging around the forum so that someone who might have the missing pages shares them with me... ;D

Regarding the manual missing pages here's the answer from Harris:

Sir, we do not support this equipment anymore. We do not have the drawings. I would check a after market seller such as mooretronix to see if they have something.

Well... I don't know where to turn ::)

As I recall (and it's been about 35 years since I installed one of these consoles) the muting relays are normally pulled. When you turn the microphone channel(s) on, the relay releases and mutes the speakers. Many consoles were designed in this way so that if a relay coil failed, the speakers would mute and you wouldn't get feedback.
The relays could be assigned to microphone inputs in nearly any combination. There is no "correct" way to wire the relays. It totally depends on which inputs the individual station is using for microphones.

I hope this helps.

I had one of the two that were in the station I started at when I wass a kid. The only problem is that thing is HEAVY! Not the kind of console you want to try and move by yourself. I ended up donating to someone else (I wish I knew I was going to be needing a console for a project as I would have just kept it in the garage).

If I can get a touch of the person who had the other one of the pair I'll see if he still has the tech manual. I don't even know if he still has the console, let alone the manual.
