Harrisburg Senators Baseball

Congrats to CC on working with the Senators to move the baseball broadcasts from 1230 to 1460. It's about time the sports talk station injected some local flavor into their national format considering other opportunities for local/regional sports play by play (Hershey Bears and Penn State football) have gone to non-sports talk format stations.

Didn't 1460 carry Phillies baseball?

Yes, they did, but I'm not sure about the current situation with the Phils; they've jumped up and down the dial for decades. We need them back on FM!
______________

Citadel should sign up with the Phils for 102.3.
______________

Well, it appears 1600 has swiped away the rights from WTKT and WLPA to serve as a Harrisburg/Lancaster Phillies affiliate. I guess they figure everyone in the nighttime dead spots (i.e. Cumberland County) can listen to 1210.

I don't think 'swiped away' the rights is correct in regards to WLPA. WLPA dropped them to broadcast all of the Lancaster Barnstormer games.

Bad move. They'd been Lancaster's Phillies affiliates for a long time, no?

Are they really going to sell that many more ads with the Barnstormers? Or is it a time-buy deal?

I know a station that covers cumberland county pretty well in the overnight hours :)
______________

Hey, they don't wanna piss off the Hershey Bears with pre-emptions, though.

I wouldn't think that the seasons would conflict. Hockey is over next week.
______________

You're right. Bears begin in early October. And the Phillies never make the playoffs.

You're all horribly misguided and abysmally incorrect.

The Phillies will wind up on Free Radio Mt. Wolf, and Mike Lieberthal himself will be the guest of honor at the Alternative Lifestyles Picnic.

WLPA will not pay a rights fee to the Barnstormers. About half of the advertising will be sold by the station, with the other half going to regular sponsors of the Barnstormers.
