Huge bump for both CHRs...

Everybody looks to have stayed about the same except for said CHR's. Country KCY was dominant, N/T WSVA did well as always, 98 ROCK was steady. The CHR's bumped up, I would assume, based on just their increased competition. My bet is that Q is still skewing older...Kiss is probably leading in the $$ demo 18-34...but that's a guess after looking at the 12+ and listening to them just yesterday... I guess that the new owners of BOP saw the writing on the wall though...BOP as a rocker pulled a 0.7 in the spring...ouch!

So low, I passed them up when skimming the numbers...

The H'burg book was a "have or have not" book to the extreme.

I seem to think WBOP's example is the problem with the ratings system. I'm sorry, but any station with decent coverage in BOTH H'burg and Staunton should pull in a 2 share without a sweat. Plus, considering the fact that WBOP once dominated the ratings...I'm sorry, but I refuse to believe that BOP truly had a .7 share.

Needless to say, that's how the stations make the big $$!<P ID="signature">______________

BOP was bad...it is good they put it out of it's misery...the music was ok but the air talent was awful. I really was surprised when i saw the numbers. I figured Q would get some numbers...but it seems they are still weak talent wise. What happened to Stone...and WHY would they move Chase to afternoons..i could fart and it sound better than him...leave him to overnites. If the air talent was better...do you think it would have passed KISS?

Q's biggest problem is the morning show...or should I say the length of discussion in each morning show. Its evident that the PD and the co-host love the sound of the own voices - saying virtually nothing of any consequence for quarter hours (literally - talking and spots for full quarter hours)...magenhouffer (sp?) does a decent job with the news - but the sports guy and M & M need to go.

I agree with you that they do chat too much...It sounds like they always tell inside jokes in effort to make the other laugh...Murphy is a good guy. He is still a little green. He should have stayed at mid days when Jeremy left. I have heard a lot of stories about Murphy burning bridges in Pittsburgh and DC. But that was a few years back. The whole staff sounds small mkt, but What did happen to Stone?

You are talking Pam Stone via sat. filling after bob and Sherri on 'zxi...which will probably go away once the sale goes through on WZXI

The other poster I believe was asking about Jeff stone on WQPO in PM drive. disappeared. The guy on there now is green.

The new PM drive guy on Kiss isn't bad though...VARTV reported that he came from Raleigh...

i indeed was asking about Jeff Stone. Glad to hear KISS finally got somebody in there. I hope he is better than the air staff at Q..but that is not hard to do. One more Mason comment...i think he looks like a creepy child molestor in the pic with Hilary Duff on the Q Morning Show page. And somebody needs to tell him he does not work for Z100...who he thinks Q is.

Just back into town with JMU - the morning show on Q comes off sounding like a know-it-all about everything (the red haired guy) with a nerdy detail guy (the other one) with way too much 'detail' about movies, old TV shows - sounds like he doesn't get out much...the girl giggles when she's there to the point that she can't read the dirt stuff - and the sports guy mumbles...I agree the news guy sounds pretty decent.

Maybe Kiss could hire him with someone to run Valentine's stuff...yeah I know he's in california - think he's given up trying to pass the show off as done in house...he doesn't hide the fact that Seacrest works in the same building...

Anybody know when XJM comes back on for the semester...its not on this weekend.

Did just hear the night guy on 98 playing the new N-I-N - way cool for the burg.

Re: Harrisonburg ratings

WXJM used to power back up midnight before classes start. But that was (gulp - big sigh) 5 years ago when I finished up there.

WXJM and the rest of JMU radio is getting ready to move into new digs behind the CVS just behind the Cloverleaf Shopping Center...supposedly sometime soon. Don't know if it will be before they come back on for the fall tho...maybe someone else will chime in.

Stone was spied in the LINEX booth by a friend at the county fair - evidently he is out of radio - he was not in radio before Q I don't believe. Someone else mentioned that his replacement is on as of last week or this - another greenie.

from what i was told Stone wanted out for some time now...good for him. Q is just a KISS rip off...minus any air talent of course. Of course the new guy is green...what experienced person would want to go there unless they burned bridges like Mason.
