I can't tell you much about the actual management, but I can pick up Q-101, KCY, and Magic here in Farmville on my MD-101 and a 20 element antenna pointed toward H'burg.

I think Magic is Vox's pet station. Compared to WBOP as rock, they sound much more slick. I think I hear some of the same jocks on Magic as I did on WBOP...

OK, that probably didn't help...sorry...

Actually all three stations have sites -

No jocks from the Old WBOP made the cut. Although I heard that Bob Jones was offered a gig and turned it down - who knows for sure. Magic competes with 105, 94.3, 96.1, their own 95.5 and 93.1 in market with a lot of the same music as a typical AC station. It stretches oldies to the max playing things from the mid to late 80's back to back with the Dave Clark 5. In office musical pablum.

Their jocks are about market level. The woman in midday can't speak clearly - always mumbling/stumbling - although she is nice to look at. The PM guy has a terrible lisp or something...The morning guy is OK. The night person is local but is very GREEN...

Their other two stations are satellite fed. WSIG runs ABC's real country outside of AM drive - although they switched local AM people from the old WSIG.

WZXI is running SAM from Westwood One and Bob and Sheri - and technically sounds like it is coming from the moon.

I think the WBOP morning guy is the PD for the stations....

There was an article in the Harrisonburg newspaper a couple of weeks ago about Magic 106.3 WBOP trying to get the FCC to allow them to move freq to 106.1 and go over near Charlottesville . The 106.3 freq would then go to Marlington, WV. Does anyone know anymore info about this ????? Please reply !!

Lisps aside...not sure if anything further is around on this. Interesting concept though - and since it didn't make a lot of sense without further info - there must be something else going on to make it worthwhile...Takes a couple of years on average for COL changes to get by the commission - and that's without any hang ups - so it'll probably be a while...
