What a great Holiday Gift!! Heard Harry Bud Nelson on Oldies 103 Thanksgiving Night!!!!! Karen Blake better watch her PM Drive Shift!!! Harry is the BEST!!!!!!!!!!

are you talking Harry Nelson the program director, formerly of WODS?

What's that all about? Hopefully Pete Falconi, Joseph M Cortese and Karen Blake and their jobs are safe from radio changes this Christmas

Now if Entercom wanted to put Harry Nelson back programming WRKO like he did in the 70s...we wouldn't have a problem with that.

Can we have some Halloween & Easter music now? Please?

He's been back for awhile. I've heard him for several weeks doing weekend shifts on Oldies.

I have heard him a few times to. But why would WODS bring back such and old sounding DJ? He sounds very southern and has a very irritating voice. Why don't they add some fresher voices to their staff..at least on the weekends.

Could he be there for any other reason?

I have heard this guy is a snake!

Everybody at Oldies better watch their backs!

Woooooaaahhh Greg11, I worked for him for 3 years and know firsthand that everyone from that station remains his raving fans. Ask Karen Blake or John Willis who know Harry from the same place as I do, I think you'll find you have the wrong impression. I worked for some really bad people at times, but Harry is as opposite of "snake" as you can get. I can't even fathom someone saying that about him! He's a kind, people person and a great radio guy. Harry is 100% Boston, having lived there 4 times longer than he ever lived in Mississippi. It's cool that you're so passionate about radio. Thanks for listening to this and hope you had a nice Thanksgiving.

i, too, echo Jim Cutler's sentiments.

there is not an easier-going, solid, professional in radio than Harry.

he's at WODS 'cuz he wanted to do some fun radio - and i believe he's found the right place.

he has nothing but respect for ALL of his co-workers, especially his long-time buds - Uncle Dale, JJ, Pete, Karen, et al.

and would "a snake" volunteer to do the Christmas eve shift?

now, maybe if we could get Greg11 on the Goat of the Day mailing list, he'd probably change his tune. :)

Hi Chuck,

Well said about Harry. :) Tell him I miss him.

Jim

telling him as i type this! and Harry says that he misses you, too... and that you guys are long overdue for a Harry Bud Radio Party!

now - if we can all just get Harry to give us directions to the newest Casa du Chacha - we'll be good to go. ;-)

Amazing what people will put out there as fact (regardless of a lack of first hand knowledge). Add me to the long list of Harry Nelson fans personally and most certainly, professionally! Most PD's would kill to have a legendary talent like Harry available for weekends!

Tell him I said "Hi'. He was briefly in Ft. Myers, but CC didn't have a clue what to do with him. Imagine that!

There are 2 people in this business I would drop whatever I was doing, wherever I was doing it, to work with again. Harry Bud Nelman is one of them. Never have I worked with a better PD.
Bud, you rock!

The Incredible Bob Campbell

PS As Cutler knows however, DO NOT let Harry near a studio with a fire extinguisher in his hands.

sheeesh... just ONE time you bust open a fire extinguisher... just ONE TIME....

and for those who'd like to see how Bud Nelson would be in the role of a White House Communications Director who helps to save the country... then (Totally Shameless Self Promotion mode ON) pick up a copy of "Taken Identity" - a geo-political spy fiction story in which 4 formerly-hapless radio guys save the nation. at fine booksellers everywhere - and online at chuckigo dot com. (plug mode off - but please shop often for holiday gift giving? thanks)
