Harry Kalas Dies

RIP to one of the greatest. It won't be the same to hear a game without him.

its almost like the phillies won the world series at the right time last year at least he got too witness it

god bless ya harry

We lost an icon today. Gonna be a tough game to play let alone watch today.

I am very sad. :'(

SHOCKED SADDENED DEVASTED UNREAL A BAD DREAM GOD BLESS YOU HARRY THE K AS TMAC SAID H .RIP MR KALAS YOU WERE THE ONE AND ONLY ONE .

Here in the San Francisco Bay Area, I didn't get to hear Harry much.
But it was a treat when I was able to, and I can see why he was so
embraced by Phillies fans. Mr. Kalas, we'll miss you...RIP...

I thought it was tough when Whitey died. Now losing Harry... this is the end of an era.
I'm glad he was around to call the Series and watch his team bring it back to Philly one more time.
And more than that, he brought it to us when they did it. He'll be a very tough act to follow.
I'll miss you Harry. Best wishes to you and your family.

God bless you Harry. Sad shocking news. The Phillies have lost the best voice on radio. So glad you go to sing High Hopes with a World Championship team last year.

RIP Harry. Philadelphia and the entire Delaware Valley will really miss you, a lot.

Harry - RIP. You were truly one of the best. Here in Pittsburgh there was no mistaking your voice any time I watched something from NFL Archives or the Chunky Soup commercials.

I remember sitting in the NEW Veterans Stadium with my Emerson transistor to see (and hear) Game 1 there.
It was April '71, and I've been in love with the guy ever since. He's probably sharing one of Whitey's famous "I can't mention the name of the Pizziaria anymore, Tony Lukes" free pies right now.

Harry Kalas always struck me as a true gentleman! He will be missed! When one of my co-workers made the annoucment at work today you could hear the air being sucked out of the office! No one wanted to work. He and Ritchie Ashburn are now calling games together from that broadcast booth in heaven!

I just saw the news of Harry Kalas' passing on MSNBC's crawl space. This is sad to hear. I'm mainly familiar with his work on NFL Films, as well as Westwood One and the Chunky Soup commercials. I, too, am glad he got to see the Phillies win the World Series just six months ago. His voice will surely be missed.

"Long drive, deep over the pearly gates of heaven, watch that baby, outta here - Harry the K has just entered heaven with a bang!"

I think that is how he would have called it. I for one will miss him coming into my home and my car for many years to come.
