Hartford News anchors

Is it me or do the three main female achors of the Hartford stations all seem like the same cookie cutter personality. Little or no personality, big smile, attractive but reveal little or anything about themselves. are they married with kids or are they cardboard cutouts?

The primary female anchors at all four Hartford stations are married. Denise at 3 and Ann at 3 have been there for like 20 years or so.

That should be Ann at 8, sorry. Most of the other female anchors in the market Kara, Rebecca, Irene, Sonya and Jocelyn are married, too.

We all know about Kara and Dennis at channel 3. Denise D'Acenzo has been with channel 3 since 1986. I'm pretty certain she's got a kid.

How are they more cookie-cutter here than anywhere else in the country?

I think Denise and Ann both have personality. I'm not so sure about Lisa Carberg, I haven't really seen NBC 30's news enough. Also, I think Sonia has a ton of personality on 'TNH's morning news.

Sad that Joanne and Janet are gone from WVIT, they both had personality too. I wonder if their departure signals any possible changes at Channel 3 or 8?

Both 8 and 30 have had poor ratings recently, especially WTNH. I'm not sure why, but I know that 8 has been losing to 3 in the mornings even in New Haven.

This is only MY opinion, but despite personell at 30 leaving, they still seem like a #2 station in the market. 8 would be good if they spiced up their graphics and set. Make it look like a professional news establishment. They have good anchors/reporters, they just have to know how to put it all together.

Still, I am mainly a Channel 3 fan, as despite their move to Rocky Hill and their technical goofs during the past few months, they still know how to do a good newscast.

I think 3 wins hands down with graphics and set. I still believe 8 eeks out ahear in terms of personalities though, especially in the weather dept. Gill and Geoff are great, and of course Dr. Mel is an institution and an inspiration. My favorite anchors on 8 are Ann, Sonia, and Darren. Denise and Dennis are also great on 3.

30 seems to be left in the dust these days.

Lisa on Channel 30 is a real enigma. She seems to be very attractive but has no personality at all. She gives me the impression taht she really doesn't like the job. She'd rather be on the beach in Old Lyme. Denise and Ann are plastic but Lisa is the worst. Its also timefor Gerry to go.

The entire Connecticut local news market is a bad joke. What used to be semi-respectable has been blown away by drones (see Christiansen...) and young kids that can barely speak proper english (Harnahahan). Journalism without any offence to viewers or any hard-hitting investigative skills. Wimpy journalism.

Sadly, this is happening everywhere. Some of the worst in this market have gone on to bigger markets, so what does that tell you?
