Harvey Leonard

WCVB tends to promote from within for the 6:00 and 11:00 newscasts, which are their flagship broadcasts. They might bring in an out-of-towner for weekends or noon. But whoever gets that job at 6:00 is likely going to be a familiar face. And even when they bring in an outsider, it’s often someone who is familiar from the same market (Cindy, Maria Stephanos, Doug Meehan, and Harvey himself). WCVB has a strong bench in weather, with Cindy, Mike Wankum, AJ, etc. It’s hard for me to see them going with an outsider for the early and late evening broadcasts. But we’ll see.

Probably. I imagine Harvey isn’t far from retirement, and that Cindy Fitzgibbon will get his job.
I believe Cindy prefers working mornings over evenings. My guess is that Mike Wankum will eventually become the chief meteorologist - he held that position at WLVI before that station's news team folded.

You talk about a familiar face. Don’t be surprised if they bring in a familiar face from another Boston station, dependent on contract obligations of course. Eric Fischer? Matt Noyes?
