Has anyone heard Radio Gilabeau 91.9?

If you don't live or drive in the 10-15 mile radius of gilabeau/Bandera road nearby 1604, chances are you haven't-it's a real low powered station. It's basically a commercial free station that plays oldies-I'm talking oldies from the 50s and early/mid 60s, and classic country. Anyone know anything else about this station? Also, I've been getting stuff on 92.3 around the same area as well.

Yes, he's been there for about a year. Sometimes he runs the Sirius Roadhouse or WSM from Nashville. He used to have level problems which he fixed about the same time his coverage increased. He now Ids as San Antonio, Helotes and Leon Valley. He's actually located in a gated community across from Wickersham at Guilbeau. Kind of surprised that he hasn't been shut down considering that he is on the next channel up from KRTU 91.7. To me, this is begging for a visit. If he were on a clearer frequency he would get alot more range. As it is he can be heard along I-10 between 410 and Camp Bullis Rd.

As for format, I like it. It is a good mix of classic country and hits of yesteryear. A nice niche that could work very well on a smaller AM outlet of a legal part 15 AM. I used to listen more before the Outlaw and Jack. Still tune in once in a while just to see if he is still there.

Haven't heard anything on 92.3. I'll have to listen. What is it you are hearing? Isn't there a translator app on that frequeny? It better not interfere with my Outlaw, dammit!

I didn't hear anything in the house so I went outside to the car. Sounds like what you might be hearing is KRNH the ranch out of Kerrville. ABC's Real Country format that used to be on 95.1 and ran concurrently on KBUC 95.7 before the Spanish invasion of both those frequencies.

Also, sorry for all the edits, over on the Houston board they are talking about the Tropo skip today and picking up Power 92.3 from Phoenix. That could also be it.
Edited by radiotex2 on 02/04/06 05:02 AM.
