Has Anyone Here Heard (sic) Their Closest Unheard?

Since this post deals with ANY broadcast band you gravitate to, 'unseen' should be added.
Some hobby traits and concerns are like mental itches. Like trying to complete a set of baseball cards and ruining the allowance budget through ten packs of cards and seeing Curt Flood's card first after unwrapping every new deck of 5. Or uploading something and watching the progress bar stall for half an hour at 99%, then at 99.2. 99.3, etc.

Well, how did those of you who consider the importance of checking off your closest AM-TV-FM-SW station do in 2025? Any luck with the vigils in 2025?

At my SE Michigan location, the closest AM I have not been able to tune, is WFLT 1420, which is around 40 miles away. It is just 500 watts, with a DA to protect WHK 1420. I have heard a heterodyne, probably when on nondirectional STA. Go just 10 miles or so NW, and it dominates WHK with little interference. WHK is heard at the receiving location. The ground conductivity is bad, sandy gravelly soil in between. Much less than M-3. That same soil prevented the Clinton Kalamazoo Canal from being constructed after 1843, changing quickly from silty clay near Mt. Clemens to sandy gravelly rocky near Rochester, MI. Only 13 miles of the canal was ever built.
