Now I don't know what you guys know. I'm a listener. So, I am probably totally wrong with this but, it just could be. I mean, anything is possible with all the carnage and craziness that's been going on.

(Now this is my idea of what "they" think "I" am since I'm in this demographic somewhere....which couldn't be farther from WRONG!!! ;D)

Here I am, just a little ole listener in the 35-54 demographic. I'm in my minivan or SUV and I don't have my presets fixed. So, I'm pushing the seek button trying to find some country since the rugrat changed it last commute. If I'm a Kix listener that would mean I'm listening to country. So, I'm not watching it scan while driving...just waiting for it to hit the country..which of course is only Kix right now. If 104 went country it would stop there before it would hit Kix RIGHT?

Or, say I'm way behind the times and only have a manual tuning radio on my kitchen counter that the kids change the station on all the time to get on Mom's nerves. So, the kids are out the door and I'm doing a little work in the kitchen. I turn on the radio.....it's TWITCH (j/k)lol so I immediately start turning it toward Kix. Sometimes those radio dials are wierd and might look like it's on something it's not....I stop on the country and think I've got KIX!

Now, isn't it logical to think that their are many people like this??? You could possibly steal some loyal KIX listeners without any effort at all.

Everyone here seems to think it's going to be FM 100 or one of the smaller signaled FM's . But, since no one expects it, and it can hit MS well and it's SO close to 105.9...I THINK it will be 104 that goes country not FM 100. Bill already plays country pop A LOT over there anyway!

Stranger things have happened.

With the possible exception of some of Dr. Flinn's hairbrained moves, I'm not sure that "stranger things have happened."

The WRVR franchise is a license to print money. They have been the market's only true AC for over 25 years. The chance of them flipping to country is not five percent ... it's not one percent ... it is ZERO.

The Entercom suits have shot themselves in the foot recently, for sure.

They were completely clueless with the Progressive Talk 680 debacle. They actually thought a bunch of show biz liberals on the dish and a dreadful local talk show host were going to beat WREC. How's that working out?

They also missed a golden opportunity to flip 94.1 to country. Would they have beaten KIX? Of course not, but they would have accomplished two things:

First, they could have most likely lopped off enough of the KIX eight share to make a nice little living.

Second, with KIX knocked down a few shares, they would have guaranteed WRVR #1 non-ethnic status for as far as the eye can see.

All that said, they aren't stupid enough to blow up the only station on Ridgeway Center Parkway that makes money.

arkansas schooling was me joking. i'm no better than anyone here, as i am probably lower on the food chain than anyone. born and raised and performed on the air in little rock. i can be a little silly with the 'arky edumacation'.

i'm severly dyslexic, and don't always see and/or spell things correctly, so i use that spell-check thing. that one word kept throwing me and i couldn't let it go.

will dr. flinn get to buy one of those CC sticks (when they do the LBO and start selling them) and FINALLY have a full market FM?

will citadel figure out what to do with kim-fm?

will 92.9 go country?

As for what's going to happen next....your guess is as good as anyone else's here I think.
I know the firing is not over yet. If nothing happens this next week, I figure it will be about a month and then we will see more major changes involving all the CC and Entercom stations. Probably others too! After the new folk get acclimated, then they'll let go of the few that "survived" the first wave...... :'(


Dr. Flinn...who the heck knows what he'll decide to do....lol. It's always fun to watch though.

Regarding KIM FM..I think that has potential. There are lots of talented folks out there now with no job. They could score a good crew. We shall see.....

93X....I know I lot of kids out there are gonna really be sad when that one's gone....my daughter included. It's not just an angry white boy station...lol.

Air America.......dunno....Al is such a bore to me....But, I'll have to give it to that Randi.....she's a hoot and one smart beeeoootch! Folks listen to what they agree with usually. I just don't think there's enough progressives in this area to support that. I think they screwed up by paying these high salaries to the "celebrity" folks though. When I found out Air America was here.....my first thought was...it AIN'T gonna last...

I still say, since it would be such a surprise, that RVR will go CUNTREE!!!!!! Just a feeling I have. It's probably wrong, but, I think it's logical. Obviously, I am alone in my opinion on that one...lol!

Good point. I actually think this station's numbers may improve slightly now that that the buzz is gone. Since the buzz appealed 20 somethings too.

Remember, not everybody in memphis is black, old, or a dentist.
 
I'm 40 years old and I even liked some of what they played!! Especially when The Buzz got their "edge" taken away. Now, I will admit that there were more of their songs I didn't like than I DID like but that's pretty typical I think. I loved their liners and jingles though. They made me laugh! :)

I would love a format that was not as ANGRY or HARD as 93X but way more edgy than say what the buzz ended up being. And for God sakes......Keith Urban belongs on KIX ...LEAVE HIM THERE PPPLLLLLLLEAAAASSSE! And while I'm venting, I might as well say, the eighties are nice once in a while to visit...but don't freakin LEAVE ME THERE!!! That s*&t makes me feel OLD!
 
If Entercom keeps 92.9 alternative...expect changes. Look at all of their alternative stations in other markets...not angry white boy stations.
