First, B98.5 dumps the "Voted #1 Again for the Most Music While You Work" slogan. Now, they are dumping soft rock during working hours.
Actually, it is first theme weekend in three years (they did a theme day on the 4th of July) where they are playing summer and party songs. But this is the first time ever that they have actually went off format during regular business hours (it began at 3 PM on Friday).
I actually think that Bob Neil, Dan Kearney, Paul Cilliano, and the others have cracked up, and are actually no longer playing it safe on Cox's flagship FM (playing it safe is a Cox corporate value).
What's coming next. An expanded (500+ songs) playlist? Sounds like to me it might happen.
