Has "Bob" checked out?

Nothing but dead air on KTWL during several checks this morning. A poster on another thread had mentioned something about no one being in the building any more...has the end arrived? Or is the automation screwed up, and nobody's home to fix it?

The station has been on a little over two years, which is far longer than anyone expected it to last. But it was the victim of a bad signal, and is lost amongst the other FM choices here.

So, from "Bob plays anything" to "Bob plays nothing." Anyone know for sure what's going on?

Nothing but silence on their stream. (I can't get the air signal here on the west side of Houston.)

Looking at the coverage map on Radio-Locater makes me wonder how they can afford the light bill. Arbitron doesn't count pine trees.

Has Henderson ever had a successful station? He manages to get some good people but he chases them off.

Still dead air as of an 11:40pm check. Looks like no one has bothered to power down the transmitter. Must be nice not having to care about the electric bill.

Anyone ever think that the employees may have been locked out of the building? Perhaps they were late on the rent.

Nothing would surprise me.

If any of those employees are out there, just know you're not alone. And that is NOT how a real independantly owned radio station should be run. Henderson has burned too many people to count!

If your looking for a new gig, Hot Country 102.5 is looking to fill a fulltime airshift. PM me for details.

Has anyone noticed anything new on this station? What's the story, for someone not from the Houston area.

I heard the employees were all gone before the station went off the air. Guess Henderson doesn't realize you can't run a station without employees. If there are any former employees out there can you let us know what happened? Does this mean the Bob format is up for grabs in the Houston area?

After 38 years as a broadcast licensee, one could hardly think that I have built a house of cards, Old Crow, so I am offended by your comments. I believe I know you from when you were at KILT many years ago. I see we feel the same about each other.
Of note, Bob-FM returns later today.

Then why did your station broadcast THREE DAYS OF DEAD AIR??? And if there was some major failure with the studio or STL, why was the transmitter left on? Care to explain? The FCC might want to know, as well.

Of note, Bob-FM returns later today.

And it has. Noted back on late this morning, although getting clobbered by tropo from KSMG.

Roy, after 38 years as a broadcast licensee, how many SUCCESSFUL stations have you owned? How many people that have worked for you have anything positive to say about you?

You'd think after 38 years, he would learn to read Part 73 especially!

Three days of dead air, eh? What happens when the FCC "fines out" lol.

I am not from the Houston area, however I do know about some of the radio stations, as I have traveled through there
many many times. Good luck, Mr. Henderson I wish you the best.

If anyone know of any good radio information pages or anything similar please email me@ [email protected] (take out the spam)
