Has Entercom ever considered putting the Red Sox on WWKB?

Isn't Buffalo close enough to Cleveland to be also considered Indians territory? And if so, do the Indians have a radio affiliate there?

The Indians claim a small corner of the Buffalo DMA - I think you can see SportsTime Ohio on a handful of systems in the Dunkirk/Fredonia/Jamestown area, but not right in Buffalo. There's no Tribe fan base to speak of in western New York. The only practical effect is that games involving the Indians are blacked out on ESPN as far afield as Time Warner Cable's Rochester system (which serves an area as far west as eastern Erie County, believe it or not!)

Yeah, WSEN/WFBL tried (Mets broadcasts) a few years back. A complete disaster.

The Mets or the broadcasts? BA-DUM-BUMP!!! ;D

Here's more on the switch: http://www.cnyradio.com/2012/01/15/espn-radio-cny-trades-red-sox-for-mets/

Well, I guess that answers the question that there aren't enough Sox fans in Syracuse to sell ads for. Granted, the games were on two fairly weak AM-with-FM-translator stations that had minimal coverage after dark. And I have long suspected that there's more baseball fans in general in Rochester than in Syracuse. Even so, I'd say that spells the end of any hopes of Red Sox games being on the air anywhere west of Albany anytime soon. Nobody else will want to take the risk. :(

Unfortunately both!
