Has "Family Guy" improved over the last couple years?

It seems like the show has made improvements over the last couple years from the "manatee-style" cutaway-fest it was before probably 2009, when the cutaways taking up 60-75% of the show and even became a talking point on "South Park". It seems like the humor has become more clever and the show has become more story-centric than before. The characters seem like they have more dimension than before, instead of having every character be awful to one another. Your thoughts?

if that's true it's a little too late for me since I stopped watching it years ago. The first couple seasons are good in my opinion, but I'm just not a fan of those sort of shows anymore. They just got too obnoxious or political or it could be I just go too old , I don't know. I'm more of a fan of fantasy or anime these days if I want to watch animation.

Meg. :p

Edit to add: I saw Brian Griffin run over by a car, die, and come back within a month.

Who does he think he is, Wile E. Coyote?

on the Killing off Brain and later undoing it part, to explain it in the Family Guy universe, Stewie said that he time travels to the future around Christmas time to buy a toy he wanted, but then after tearing down the time machine, Brain is killed and Stewie tried to rebuilt it, but the guy he bought the parts from was a Muslim man who got it from a fellow Muslim man who accidentally drew the prophet Muhammad (which is a no-no in Islamic/Muslim culture) and was killed, so he was unable to and accepted Brain was gone for good, it was the Christmas episode two episode later that actually ended the arc where Vinny the replacement talking dog and Stewie went to go buy a toy only to realize after seeing a past version of himself that Stewie realize he can still go back in time and stole the time traveling return pod from past Stewie which he was lured by Vinny and present to go back in time and save Brain, thus was how Family Guy undid the death of Brain cause he was a staple character of the show. if they killed Meg off, it will kill a running gag about Meg being ugly and unwanted by the rest of the family.

The first couple of episodes were good in my opinion but after they came back, it started going downhill big time and eventually overtime, it just became yet another mundane overuse of "comedy" that The Simpsons and even South Park has become after being on the air for over a couple of decades.

My impression is they're doing as many cutaways as they ever did. Some work, some don't.

There's so much less emphasis on Evil Stewie these days, compared to when the show first began.

On the other hand, treating Meg like dirt is an essential part of every episode.

I still enjoy the show for whatever reason.
