Has Jack turned a little toward the harder stuff

since the 97.1 flip? I can't tell. I really like the flexibility of Jack, however.

IMHO the noticeable RQQ reactions I hear are: 102.9 tweaked their image liners to sound edgier. I hear a couple of more artist-specific intro liners like "You want to hear more Pearl Jam? Well, you got it. 1029 The Buzz...".

Pebble is still playing the same 250 songs.

I think Jack is still trying to be a station-you-can-listen-to-at-work-and-be-considered-cool. Visiting their station I got the impression Jack programming has some playlist autonomy. Could be RQQ reaction, could be simply mixing up the music to stay fresh.

So far so good with 97-1. RQQ plays many of the Pebble's/old KDF worn out classic rockers. To RQQ's credit today I heard a Molly Hatchet song not played in years. Would love for RQQ to add some Motorhead, Steve Vai, Eric Johnson, et al.

I agree with you 101%. No bubble gum heavy metal, just pure hard rock! I foresee a change in 105.9 since the sale of Clear Channel. Whomever buys the Nashville Cluster, it will change. Like I said in another post, The Rock @ 105.9 is tired and worn out.

Delta???

Rockin' Memories? Forget it.:) It sounds like another recycled version of Rock Hits...

I am glad that we have a station in Nashville that sounds like a station that is not in
Nashville. RQQ sounds pretty good to me, musically, and I could care a less about the
majority of the playlist. Jack does seem to be playing more Classic ROCC than a few
weeks ago, when it was skewing more 80's. True, it's the most positive aspect of
the Jack format to be flexible.

I haven't listened to The Buzz, so I cannot say anything there. I can't listen to that
joke at 105.9. The Pebble is a tired dinosaur. Nothing like claiming "Lonesome Loser"
is a rock song, huh? Air Supply can't be far away... I go out on a limb and
claim The Pebble will turn to dust and be back to AC by fall.

Rockin' Memories? Forget it the trouble with message boards is no one can tell from reading a post when tongue is placed firmly in cheek..or when one is seriously kidding..or insanely serious..or too deep in the abour mist... :-*...or maybe..just maybe so far ahead of the curve , they're kissing their own a$$...

I was just joshin' ya, delta... but i was serious about 105-9 being dust in the wind...should be their last song.
i can't be accused of kissing up to any cc members for that station. Sorry, boring and a great example of
why radio is faltering. Until lately, the only thing 105-9 had going for it was 97-1 was worse...

Shortly after 9:00, 97.1 played "Sultans of Swing"

Yeh, I know it's Mark Knopfler, but it's sortof wimpy. Just after that Jack played "Black Water". But more interestingly to me, likely no one else, WVCP and Jack were playing Martha Davis/Motels "Only the Lonely" at the same time!

Plus, I have to reposess my original question. I just heard

Sheryl Crow's "Soak Up the Sun" and Elton John's "Someone Saved My Life" on Jack. So in my best Emily Litella: "Nevermind..."

gotta agree with the rest on the 105.9, the crock..surely even the most ardent listener is growing weary of the SAME 250 or so songs day after day after day........if anyone nows any of the jocks there..ask them is THEY aren't spin crazy from the repitition ?? i've more music on one mp3 in my metro..

I hope you're joking! I didn't like "Lonesome Loser" even back in its heyday! :p ::)

yes, i'm sure the molly hatchet deep cuts will get them a 2.4 share. the jocks stink on 97.1 and the music isn't very exciting either. i am glad that the 5 posters on this board like the station and I'm sure the new pd is loving the bars in Nashville considering he came from Toledo.

Pat,
You should be proud that the Hard Rocker's of the late 70's and early 80's thought you were a part of the ROCK 106, "Rock Army", and someone even said you started the promotion. I could see you over there playing Ted Nugent's "Cat Scratch Fever", Cheap Trick's "Gonna Raise Hell, REO Speedwagon's "Ridin the Storm Out"!
Pat, you could have a fan base as big as Gene Simmons here in the Nashville Market. Too bad the old geeks that owned the old WHIN-FM at the time wouldn't let that thing go AOR, up against KDF or KDA-FM at the time. Between you, Buntin, Jack Williams, & Chris Collins, Nashville would of had a rocker to be scared to death of.

i do have those in my playlist...and you thought all i had was lorne greene's biggest hit..and the complete vanity fair collection.. ;D
