Has Jason Wolf been fired at WEEI?

radio-info news yesterday had an item, "Eight Entercom Staffers Are Awarded VP Stripes". Promotions to VP/Sales and VP/Operations happened in various markets but not Boston. Now I see, scanning the letter linked to his twitter that "But this is a business...Entercom has chosen to replace me" etc. As he said he spent 22 years with EEI (trying to remember when Entercom took them over...) Indeed many successes and also there have been controversial situations like Howie attempting to flee.

Good luck to Jason, many great achievements, and if I called him "Hokey Wolfe" it was all in good fun :) Now I wonder who will replace him? I heard something about a "LAUROJRM" who seemed to have some interesting ideas for the Boston group... :) (kidding!)

Tweets from Howie: "Jason Wolf (sic), serial killer of Boston radio stations, will not be down for breakfast. No, Jason, I would not like my fries supersized...Now we really have a reason to celebrate tonight at the Barking Crab! See you there for 3-7 show, then party time!...A Gore Vidal memorial tribute to Jason Wolf (or is it Wolfe, who cares?): "No talent is not enough."

yes I do have good ideas, but not that experience. If this is true, I hope not, but if it is true, I'm sure he will succeed in anything. Most newspapers are reporting he's been in that position for 20 years?
He'll succeed. I have great hope for him

>>The Lexington native, Wolfe, started at WEEI as a show producer when the station launched in September 1991. He was named station's assistant program director in 1995 and two years later became its program director. In February 2006, he was named sister station WRKO 680's program director and later that year he was named VP of Programming and Operations of both stations.

Howie Carr put Jerry Williams in his grave.

Williams should have gotten out before he was pushed. 1990 would have been a good year for him to do so.

Is there anything that can be done to save WEEI now? Or even WRKO?

what can be saved? I hope they can last a long time.
My idea (FOR WRKO) , is, put (LIVE) programming on. Local or Syndicated. Not Delay times
(maybe except early Saturday & Sunday ?/ 5am-9am) other than that, put (LIVE) Programming on.
Maybe also some (Paid Programming/Taped Programming-Saturday and or Sunday 1pm-4pm)? Other than that, put (LIVE) programming on (almost 24/7)

For WEEI
Trade with 1510am. Put "NBC Sports Radio" on WEEI on weeknight overnights, and weekend overnights on WEEI put "FOX Sports Radio"
or completely put "FOX Sports Radio" on (every) overnight on WEEI

Incase you all ask me why I said "Paid Programming"=To keep the radio station on.
And maybe have some of those Pre-Recorded Financial Shows on there at those times i just listed.
But all in all, I'd say, have (LIVE) Programming on Local or Syndicated (almost) 24/7

When Jerry lost the head to head battle with Howie it was time for him to go, but Jerry thought retirement would kill him ( and he may have been right )

The fact that Jason kept his job for 22 years is staggering - OK he made the right call with D&C, fought to get the Providence stick and he took a chance with Holley but he had far more strikeouts especially on the WRKO side.

As long as Jeff Brown stays there is no hope for that operation.

as for WEEI,
I know that, you all might say that they have a contract with "ESPN Radio"

The way (ESPN Radio) is these days.
Don't get me wrong, I know they're famous and well known. And I know some of you may like it? I listen to them a lot. But lately in the last few months, I noticed that, on weeknight overnight and weekend overnights they repeat every hour. Whatever is on at 1am, it is repeated for the next four hours. So, all together, the same thing repeats for five hours.
Tell me, who would want to listen to the same thing over and over and over again for five hours? It gets tiring. They have no Listener Interaction.
Listeners are part of what keeps a radio station going.
Without the listener interaction, the listener will not care.

I know that "FOX Sports Radio" does the same, on weekday overnights, JT The Brick last hour (5am-6am Eastern) is repeated
As well as on the weekend, with Ben Maller. That's better than repeating it for five hours.

Sports Byline USA does the same on weekend overnights. They're supposed to be on 1am-6am. But they are only (LIVE) for the first two hours. Those two first hours repeat the rest of the morning.

Same with "Yahoo Sports Radio" They are not live weekend overnights.

I don't know (yet) about "NBC Sports Radio" or "CBS Radio" to me it sounds ok so far. (As for Repeats) I don't know at this time
