HAS "MODERN FAMILY" GOTTEN TOO WACKY?

As a new show last year it was usually entertaining, but this year they seem to be going off the wall. The storyline has become more unbelievable and the WACKY seems to be up 50%.
Funny is funny, but trying to use WACKY to be funny, just ain't right.

Is it just me or have others noticed? I switched to Wonder Years on HUB tonight and it was much
more enjoyable (and 75% less wacky).

Has Ed O'Neill spontaneously broken out into his old Al Bundy character? :D

No, for if he had, he'd be funny. You got further than I did, tuna. I got through the first show and said "no more". This show reads like a bunch of 8th graders wrote it.

And yet the ratings have never been better. Last week it was the number one scripted show in the money demo. Guess it works.

Still very funny imo, though.

If you only got through the first three episodes you really missed out on when the show hit it's stride. Most fans of the show pinpoint it at the "Fizbo" episode. If you can watch that episode without laughing then Modern Family just isn't for you.

The show is still as sharp as ever this season. If anything, you can tell Julie Bowen and Ty Burrell are really trying to chase an Emmy win since they know the show is on it's radar.

I just think this year they are not as funny and are using the unbelievable WACKYNESS in order to create funny. A sitcom should be halfway believable, and not from another planet.

Can you give me some examples of the "wackyness" thats in the 2nd season that wasnt in the first?
