Has Nassau defaulted?

If Blueberry got it I think a WTOS simulcast would be great to bring it back to the Portland area. I don't quite understand the whole simulcast deal with WCME in Boothbay other then it saves hiring anyone to run it but if they think that they are even remotely hitting listeners displaced by WJZP then they need to take a drive down 295.

Wouldn't there be some kind of noncompete between Blueberry and Nassau due to Louis Vitale's ownership stake in Mariner, which sold out to Nassau just a few years ago? Even if there was, I suppose that could be waived under these circumstances.

On the surface 106.7 would seem to make sense for the Phoenix Media/Communications Group, but they're in cutback mode; they can't even afford to pay someone to host the Jazz Brunch on Sundays anymore. And besides, 106.7 doesn't reach into Portland all that well, and the tiny signal get hammered by tropospheric enhancement of WMJX in the summer. A ridiculous allocation on the FCC's part, IMHO.

Ultimately, EMF is the almost-inevitable suitor.

True, but they already have 93.9 in Lewiston for Air One

I wish a group like WMWV or Stephen King's group or Mountain Wireless would come in and buy some of these stations like 106.7 or WGUY/WFZX instead of them ultimatley going the non-comm route, even a simulcast would work

It's nearing 3 weeks from the date of the 'leaked' memo which indicated there would be an FCC filing 'later this (same) week' for the change of control to Goldman Sachs and to the divestiture trust for those stations being spun off. Searches for recently filed applications for a random sample of Concord/Lakes Region stations and for WCRB shows no recent applications filed. Did the ink dry on the Goldman Sachs deal, or is it now smudged?

A deal being filed and the FCC having it on their website are two different stories these days. If you think radio stations are having to do more with less, the current FCC makes every radio station seem over staffed.
