Has the sun set on AGM's Sol?

Sol 106.7 has been stunting with a non-stop loop of a quasi-disco version of the traditional song, "Guadalajara". Format change time? They had recently spruced up the 'Spanish oldies' format with some more recent tunes beyond what only grandma remembers and even some Contemporary music under the solamente exitos moniker. I actually thought it sounded a lot better (for Sol).... so, what's next.... Bavarian Polka Fest, 24/7 Swap Shop (en espanol)?

Could it be the return of Wild 106????

OR a soft ac to go after magic???

Or Movin 106?????

Or a Classic Rock????

We can rest assured that the 106.7 format will in all probability not be local FM Talk!

Now they are doing a couple of hours each of different Spanish formats, starting with ESPN Deportes in Spanish, and currently have regional Mexican on and calling it La Ley.

So, are they going to land on one format?
Logic would say they are trying to shore up Santa Fe in response to the La Jefa
switch to a big signal.
Interesting!

We have a winner, and it is hard core regional Mexican with ESPN sports, starting with a soccer game tonight. Name is La Ley.

Ratings

I got a quick look at some numbers for trend 1.
KJFA is heading skyward. Piolin is exploding in the mornings. And the station with
it's new signal is kicking buddah.
Radio Lobo has got a major battle on it's hands.

KKSS reabounded. Nice trend.
KOB-Fm so so.

Not many other surprises after a quick glance.
Anyone else have any demo trends?

Univision beefs up La Jefa 105.1, gets into the passing lane and rides right on past AGM's Radio Lobo 97.7, so AGM puts on another Regional Mexican station with La Ley now on 106.7. Add in a couple more low shows with their variations on the Reg. Mex. format already in the market. I don't get the strategy.

Except for La Ley, Lobo and Jefa, I did not know there were any other regional FMs in the market...

David, I should have clarified that the "low shows in the ratings game" I was refering to are AM stations. 1310 - La Norteñita is also throwing in some soccer games like Ley. The other is Entravision's 1450 José. Yes, 'he plays what he wants', but that seems to include a heavy dose of music that would fall under the larger sized Reg. Mex. umbrella. BTW they've been broadcasting dead air all day.

Just a clarification... 1450 is not regional Mexican any more than KLVE in LA is Regional mexican because they play some "Mexican Ballads" in the format... neither is KKRG regional, nor would a listener from Mexico consider them so.
