Has the Upsate's 103.3/103.9 Flipped?

Storms during the wee hours this morning kept me awake for a good while, so I surfed the FM dial looking for July 1st/2nd format flips. While I normally don't listen to WOLT (103.3) or WOLI (103.9), their signals were coming in better than normal in Morganton, NC. WOLI was much stronger and I noticed the absence of Mexican Music, and I was hearing a continuous loop (dance mix?) of Top 40
tunes. I heard no liners - only a quick ID at 5:10 this morning and it was in Spanish. I flipped to WOLT and while there was much static (fighting with nearby co-channel WKVS) I'm certain I heard duplicated programming. So, have one or both of these stations been like this or have they recently flipped?

Eric

WOLT 103.3 (Greer) has been airing a CHR format called Spin FM in its unsold timeslots for a few months now.. I think CraigD, who posts here from time to time, has mentioned that it is airing on some timeslots on WOLI 103.9 (Easley) as well.

Yeah the Spin FM format (when On) puts B to shame in the CHR world. If you like top 40 it's worth a listen. Airs 6pm-6am and til 9am online Monday through Friday. All morning/afternoon Saturdays (sans 10a-2p) and a Country version of Spin airs Sunday afternoons. As far as the combo, Neil is correct...late evening/overnights I combo Spin onto both 103.3 and 103.9.

Current 103-3 Spin FM line up:

Mon-Fri
Bill Drake - 6a-9a (on air only-Spin Online)
Rev Bob Levy - 9a-11a
Spin FM - 11a-2p (Except Mondays 1-2p)
Beach Bob Oldies Show - 2p-6p
Spin FM - 6pm-6am (til 9a online)*
*Thursday & Friday's 8p-Mid = Get Money Radio (A club show)

I agree, actually, anything puts B to shame. 103.3's approach to CHR is quite refreshing, but I don't care for a lot of the dance remixes. B is one of the most tired CHR's I've ever heard. Everything is just stale and seems been there, done that.

Josh,

Darrin "Skip Church" Fitzgerald no longer has a show on WOLT. Rev. Bob Levy has taken over that time slot and now has 'The After Breakfast Show.' It is now actually going to air Monday-Thursday 9am-Noon (as of this writing). There is nothing further I can add legally at this time regarding Skip. Well, except the classic 'we wish him the best in his future endeavours" line. Of all the different radio groups and craziness I've seen over the years NOTHING even comes close to the dramedy that occurs within the walls of broker radio.

Well,...first off, Craig's job is a difficult one, managing both station, and the drama therein. We should all try to understand that...I do!
I don't know Skip Church, but I also understand the pay-up-front, and then sell it to get your money back spinmill. It is a struggle, and I'm sure that Beach Bob has had some thin months. As for cash flow, know one walks the street like Bill Drake. I'm a little too young to be his listener, but as a former Broadcaster, I have to give him my Top Shelf of respect. Ten gallon hats-off to J.D., as I dug his traditional Country show. I still listen to Beach Bob. The man has no problem playing Ricky Godfrey, and....Diggin' on James Brown...(Hehh!).
