Earlier last year (2005), Paul Harvey was pulled from several stations that CC owns when CC began running Fox News instead of ABC news at the top of the hour. ABC Radio refused to allow any of the CC stations run Paul Harvey until or unless those stations also ran ABC News once an hour. Since that was not about to happen, away he went, along with the ABC affiliation which other stations were glad to accept. KFMB in San Diego is a good example. For years, (almost from the begining), they were CBS Radio. Now, they are ABC, and run Paul Havey, even though their TV sister station is also a CBS affiliate.
Sorry, I admit that I don't know the answer why Paul is not on WBZ. But, I imagine that since WBZ is now officially owned by "CBS Corp," and is under the official title "CBS Radio," ABC radio made the same decision to pull ol' Paul, and probably ABC radio as well.
Which begs a new question, what station in Boston will now have ABC Radio?
'RKO? WTKK? This could be intersting... Calling Scott Fybush!
