Has WNSH-AM Lost Its Sole Advertiser?

You may remember than WNSH-AM 1570 in Beverly abandoned English-language ultra-conservative far right-wing nuttery last year to broadcast Spanish-language programming that may or may not have been "religion" based. Then voila (a little French lingo) WNSH went back to its prior format earlier this year. On those occasions when I sampled the programming on that outlet, there was only one local sponsor: an outfit that purported to cure allergies by waving wands at people. Well, as of today, Tuesday, I did not observe that sponsor in the usual places, and the only spots to be heard were from the syndicators of the shows on the station's schedule or Endicott College. Maybe the EC spots are a tradeout for the rental of the tower space, but how are they paying the 30-kilowatt-hour electric bills?

the signal is great during the day.. i'm surprised they didnt have more than just 1 local advertiser

You must live in Essex County or on Cape Cod. I live in Arlington, ~10 miles northwest of downtown Boston. Up here, fuhgeddaboudit!

We have a couple, about a half dozen PI's, three long form religious shows that pay OK, and a web designer, a massage therapist, as well as several candidates. Oh well, it has been slow getting up to speed since last January, but I think we have a nice mix. Both Laura Ingraham and Steve Malzberg are conservative, but they are on live, polite to listeners, and articulate. I enjoy them, listeners all over the country do as well as they are well ranked nationally. We have a morning national news show, and Dr Joy Browne for relationships that need a tune up. Weekends are some leased religious programs and practical shows on cars, gardening, travel, and other specialties.

But, you are correct, 10 or 15 advertisers does not get the job done, so we have made some changes and expect to increase our local ads by a substantial number.

Thanks for listening.

Our signal is bounded by our location, tower height, and poor soil conductivity. WNSH clings to the coast and 20 miles inland, we actually do quite well on the south shore, and I have driven as far as Norfolk listening to WNSH mid-day.
