Has WVCP moved the classic rock to over the air

and Oldies to HD-1 only? HD-2 was playing OTA on my drive in to work. Nothing new on the website-

Oh wow, I didn't even know aboutthis station. I'm listening now, and I wouldn't call what they're playing now classic rock. I assume they play all kinds of different stuff because they're a college station, though. I wish college stations had better reception. They can be interesting to listen to, except I live in Mayberry, lol, so reception's not that great here.

OG: They could have had the problem fixed by then. But what they were playing at 7:00am, was classic rock, and Howard Espravnik (GM) confirmed it. It's their HD2 channel.

Everyone can come back in off the ledges. A computer glitch kept them from broadcasting the Oldies station. See second choice's comment: http://radiodiscussions.com/smf/index.php?topic=231762.0.
Can't say for certain, but I believe that that comment was in response to my comment about Hippie riding TWO nameless horses within about a 10-minute period yesterday.

Meanwhile, I was at Vandy yesterday, which is close enough for me to pick up WVCP on my car radio, and yesterday afternoon, they were still running an HD-station broadcast.

On my way back from work yesterday at 3:30pm, it was back to regular programming. It was very easy to tell even with a few notes and lots of static. :) The 200 foot elevation change breaks up the signal badly. Interestingly enough, I can go down 31W and get the signal sooner than if I travel down 109 through the Highland Rim. I have to wait until the antenna is line-of-sight before it comes in full quiet. Yeah, the car's radio isn't really good. It needs repair and a new antenna.

Right before the classic rock HD-2 programming started, it was dead air at 5:30 am on Tuesday. Then right about the time I got to Portland and the signal was just about gone, I started hearing the HD-2 stream.

Their antenna is on CEMC'S tower on the north side of town...Tower height is roughly 250 feet Id say since it's next door to WMRO'S tower..and it is lower with no lights..I think the FCC requires lights on anything 200 feet and higher..

Yeah, I drive by it everyday on the way to work in Portland. It doesn't seem to be very high, but it's hard to tell when I'm practically under the antenna as I drive by. :) The FCC has it at 242.8 feet AGL, so it is almost at level with the highest points of the Highland Rim.

When I get the radio repaired and find the source of interference in the car, it should be a lot better.
