I was in Hastings, MI for a wedding this weekend. Hastings is centrally located between Kalamazoo, Battle Creek, Grand Rapids and Lansing and is the county seat of Barry County in West Michigan. The high terrain and sweeping hills make this area very popular for many West Michigan broadcast transmitter sites, which brings me to the only con. Not very many open channels. However, the same terrain really helps signals travel on the remaining open frequencies.
I managed to find time to sample the FM dial in town and was very surprised at what I found. I will omit the local stations and mention only the ones I found to be DX noteworthy.
