Have A Safe And Happy New Year!

To all who read this board Happy New Year! Lets hope 2010 will bring good health and happiness to radio and it's listeners everywhere!

Happy New Year, DX, and to everyone out there in Radio-Info.com land.

Oh, and while your feeling all warm and optimistic about 2010, Harold Camping of Family Radio (owner of The Big 610, KEAR) says we're all going to die. Soon.

Harold Camping lets out a hearty chuckle when he considers the people who believe the world will end in 2012.

"That date has not one stitch of biblical authority," Camping says from the Oakland office where he runs Family Radio, an evangelical station that reaches listeners around the world. "It's like a fairy tale."

The real date for the end of times, he says, is in 2011.

If Mr. Camping believes the end of the world (as we know it will come to a end in 2011) then I sure he wouldn't
mind handing over the radio station keys to me on New Years eve 2010! I always wanted to own a radio station.

Does anyone remember Camping's book 1994? Apparently, it didn't have a stitch of Biblical authority, either.

I read the article. One of his 'faithful' says, "this time it is going to happen. There was some doubt last time, but we didn't have any proofs. This time we do."

Proofs? There is only one reality and Camping and his followers, unfortunately, overlook it, then spout off. Many people don't see or understand what's right here now, but don't shoot off their mouth about it. Those who do are open targets for any ridicule they receive, go for it.

How's this for a free-shot slice of mouthnoise: "The world won't end until we say it will."

Prove otherwise.

The biggest problem with goofballs like Camping and their "predictions" is summed up by the expression, "you can't play 5 card stud with a nut!"

From "Basic Hippy Consciousness," the introduction:
"There is a balance that one can reach within that is so satisfying as to trigger a realization: the source for all is inside, not out there...
"Thus, as most outward pursuits can't come close to the deeply satisfying personal experience of 'this something' which is much larger, forceful, beautiful, giving and loving, one goes where the good stuff is, forgoing much of the other."

Here's an example: Suppose I can see into the future, but, being in balance, have no overamped ambitions to rule the world with this ability, maybe save a few pennies here and there, that's all.
So, in a possible scenario, say I/you know the Kindle will evolve to include net browsing, video conferencing, and become a much more user-friendly finger operated device with smart phoning features. Instead of being motivated by money, buying stock and making a profits, the Balance naturally Ieads you/me to just kick back a few months while they further develop the product beyond it's current status as an overpriced PDF reader. This way, we'll get more for our dollars when we DO buy one. That's all.

Why would I want a large stock portfolio or too much money (to which I become chained) when I'm rolling perfectly well without the added drag? Flies in the face of profiteering logic, I realize that, come on. However, there are levels far above and beyond that skimpy bottom line."

Similarly, it is unimportant to either of us whether or not religious leaders agree with our Inner GPS. We are free as we get our avatars settled into this new, self-proprietry environment.
