Have FCC license, need help starting community radio station

I am member of a group that has obtained a license from the FCC to begin a community radio station in San Diego. We have the motivation but not the technical expertise to get things up and running. We have access to a radio tower and an antenna. The clock is ticking for us to begin broadcasting or we will lose our license. Is anybody interested in getting involved?

Are you talking about KNSJ in Descanso?

In response to my own post, if you do represent or speak for KNSJ, I'd suggest contacting Don Mussell who posts on these boards. He has a website at http://www.well.com/~dmsml/ which includes all kinds of contacts.

Don has been involved with activist or progressive radio for decades, back to the times of the very well known unofficially-named spokesperson for the whole activist radio movement, Lorenzo Milam.

Don has worked on several SoCal progressive stations, including the venerable KPFK. I think that he might be able to give you some tips or suggestions on how to proceed and where to seek guidance and assistance in the project. He also has a home in Santa Cruz, CA, and might even be available to directly assist or supervise your project... all those are questions you might ask of him.

When you go to his website, take a moment to enjoy his fantastic photos from transmitter and station sites in the different places he has worked.

My contact info on my website works, so feel free to send a message. And just a point of clarification, after commuting for nearly two decades, I gave up and moved to Hawaii in 2007.
