And someone recently commented here about west Tennesseans taking over the Tennessee board. ::) Again, so what? If only west Tennesseans (and west Tennessee natives like myself!) post on the Tennessee board, then only matters of interest to west Tennesseans will be discussed!

Besides, there's more to Tennessee than just "Rocky Top." You ain't been to Tennessee until you've been to west Tennessee!

If you're referring to my post on another thread that said, "Looks like this post has gone from East and Middle Tennessee to West Tennessee."

It was merely an observation.

As for West Tennessee, I have no desire to visit Tornado Alley, and from what I've heard about Memphis, I have no desire to visit there either.

I'll stick with the beautiful Mountains of East Tennessee, and Rocky Top. ;D
Oh, well, your loss! ::)

You've obviously lost your way. Follow this link to find your way home:

East Tennessee may be beautiful, but you can keep the winter weather!

They're an hour ahead of us, but still 20 years behind us!

Winter weather in East Tennessee? You make it sound like you live in Florida instead of West Tennessee. You folks in West Tennessee get more winter weather than what we do here in ET.

You obviously have not been in East Tennessee in quiet sometime. Snowfall here (Especially in Knoxville) is a joke these days. There hasn't been a significant amount of snowfall around this area since sometime in the late 90's. I actually miss the winter weather that we use to get here in Ktown.

As for being 20 years behind all of you, I consider that a good thing. I usually don't like change. I would rather live in some rural place where there is not as much technology away from all of the congestion, noise, and traffic. :)))

Actually thought about moving to someplace like Minnesota where they still have wintertime, unlike the tropical mild winters of East Tennessee.

I should clarify. I am a west Tennessee native, but I live in Pegram (just right outside of Nashville) now. I have lived in Nashville/Middle Tennessee for 16 years now. My dad (east TN native) and my mom (west TN native) moved to Pegram after they retired, and have lived here for eight years themselves. Their house is about a mile from mine. (By the way, if you want to avoid a town in Tennessee, skip Clarksville! I lived there for nine months myself!)

I usually post on west Tennessee radio from a historical sense, and on Nashville radio from a more current standpoint. That would become obvious from reading my postings, particularly on the Nashville board.

I was impressed that KnoxvilleTVfan knew anything about KF-99, given that they are in northwest TN, about 350 miles from Knoxville.

I was last in east Tennessee about four years ago (in the summer!) when I was in Chattanooga for a week. I liked the Incline Railway! As far as radio there goes, I was impressed with GT-108, the oldies station there, because they played "Play With Fire" by the Stones, which Oldies 96.3 here in Nashville never played. However, I heard it more than once during the week I was there, leading me to believe it was a regular on their playlist. I even signed the guestbook on their website once I got home! But I am guessing that GT-108, just like the former Oldies 96.3, no longer exists as an oldies station! :'(

My dad is from Claiborne County, but I haven't been there myself since 2000. It's pretty, but some of the roads there are as steep as driving up the side of a building! I can imagine winter there is not much fun. I'm also fairly certain that interstate 40 through the plateau (Cookeville to Crab Orchard to Rockwood) is also not much fun when the weather is bad, nor is I-24 over Monteagle Mountain.

We've only had two really bad winters since I've been here, and I can remember more than that in the weststate. We once had a snowdrift so high there that the fence was nearly covered! Fortunately, that was on the south side of the house, so it melted fairly quickly.

And I found a live performance of "Germantown Blues" on youtube, but it is from cell phone video, so it can be hard to understand the words at times.
