Have These, Will These Positions Get Filled

It seems like it takes forever for positions to get filled these days. A few questions:

1. Is Mish Michaels the permanent chief meteorologist for Channel 4 now or are they doing a search to replace Ed Carroll? Also, does anyone know where Ed went?

2. Is Bob Schiffer the permanent replacement for Dan Rather on the CBS Evening News or are they doing a search?

3. Is ABC World News Tonight staying with Charlie Gibson, Elizabeth Vargas, etc. as rotating anchors or is there a search?

they've brought in ken barlow from an nbc affil in minny/st.paul market. he starts on january 9. nothing new on ed. i am sure he's sent his tape and resume to good morning america where tony perkins is going back to dc tv market next week.

no, but i hope he leaves soon. his neckties are getting obnoxious. cbs just got a new news boss sean mcmanus and he said he is not in a hurry to find a permanent replacement cuz audience didn't decline after rather departed.

rather is doing pieces for 60 minutes, but most of them do not make it to air. what's up with that?

there are 3 candidates - gibson, vargas and woodruff. gibson is the most obvious one, but dave westin is dragging his feet as usual. one way or another, gibson will be affected by westin's final pick. if gibson stays at gma, he'll be one pissed camper. if he gets wnt anchor seat, they need a new male anchor for gma.

> 2. I don't take the courting of Couric too seriously but I think CBS would like to take some risks and they could get plenty of ink as well as putting a major dent into the Today show wagon, if they could lure Katie away.
